Charlestown, Nevis — The Nevis Electricity Company Limited (NEVLEC) is advising customers that the company is currently experiencing technical difficulties with two of its larger generating units at the Prospect Power Station.
As a result of the reduced generation capacity, customers in some areas may experience periods of temporary electricity service interruptions while NEVLEC’s technical teams work to restore the affected generating units.
NEVLEC said its teams are actively carrying out the necessary repairs and will restore power to affected areas as additional generation capacity becomes available.
The company acknowledged the inconvenience that interruptions in electricity service may cause to households and businesses and expressed appreciation to customers for their patience and understanding as efforts continue to return the system to normal operation.
