The St.Kitts senior Cricket team recently won quite easily over their Nevisian counterparts in the recently concluded 50 overs aside Leeward Islands tournament.
However, Assistant coach of the West Indies senior men’s team, Stuart Clayton Williams, is adamant that the local guys are not playing enough Cricket.
With this in mind, the former West Indies opening batsman has organized for both teams to face off against each other in the proverbial ‘battle of the narrows,’ this coming weekend.
According to Williams, there will be two T-20 matches played this weekend:
On Saturday 14th May, the two teams will face off in St.Kitts, at the grounds in Molineux, starting at 2 pm.
The very next day, Sunday 15th May, the action moves to the ET Willett Park with another exciting encounter between the two teams, again starting at 2 pm.
Williams was quick to point out that the Nevis team selected for the two matches, was selected by the Nevis selectors and also noted that he is receiving assistance in coordinating the events from Youth Coordinator Jamir Claxton and his staff at the Youth and Sports Department.
The 14 man Nevis team is as follows:
Tonito Willett –capt
Akito Willett
Adelvin Phillip
Ross Powell
Justin Athanaze
Duan Webbe
Nelson Bolan
Kejel Tyson
Kezron Archibald
Daynason Browne
