BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – A Restorative Justice and Criminal Mediation Training Programme designed to build local capacity in restorative justice and criminal mediation began here at the Koi Resort on Monday.
The June 8th to 18th programme is also expected to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to promote dialogue, accountability, rehabilitation, and more effective conflict resolution within the justice.
It is being facilitated by the Society of Mediators, a London-based organisation that specialises in accredited mediation training and education.
This initiative forms part of the ongoing efforts of the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis to strengthen and modernise the criminal justice system through the establishment of a comprehensive restorative justice framework.
It is being held by the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, through the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
