(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS) – Miss Carib Brewery, Akeisha Fergus has been crowned Ms Culture Queen 2014/2015, beating out four other Nevisian beauties for the title.
Before a huge audience on Saturday, August 2, 2014 the ladies competed fiercely for the coveted title. This year’s Culture Queen Pageant was one of the most talked-about and anticipated shows, as all five contestants were deemed equally capable of taking the crown.
Akeisha Fergus took home the win for best talent, best eveningwear and best interview. She also won Ms Congeniality. During her winning Talent segment, Fergus displayed her talent by singing a calypso that thanked all the persons who brought Culturama to fruition in 1974, and all those who continue to make it possible.
First runner-up went to Hydeia Tyson. The Miss St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank Ltd contestant was judged as having the best costume and swimwear. Her costume displayed Culturama icons.
Miss Nevlec, Shariezelle Belle was placed second runner-up.
The other contestants were Shaquoya Flanders and Chelsee Liburd. Miss Liburd took the awards of people’s choice award and most photogenic.
The Culture Queen was crowned by the General Manager of S.L Horsfords Ltd. Mr. Oscar Walters. The queen who hails from the village of Bulters took home a brand new car sponsored by the S L Horfords Ltd.
The show was hosted by Chantel Miller and Mervin Hanley.
