Alicia Barnes to Feature at NRP National Convention

CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS, September 08, 2026 (Nevis Reformation Party) – The Nevis Reformation Party will host its National Convention on Sunday, October 04, 2026, at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre, beginning at 5 p.m., under the theme: “Defending Our Heritage, Securing Our Future — NRP Ready to Deliver.”

The Party is pleased to announce that United States Virgin Islands legislator, public servant and empowerment speaker Alicia Barnes will be the featured speaker.

Barnes brings extensive experience in government, environmental management, energy, economic development and public administration. She currently serves as a member of the 33rd Legislature of the U.S. Virgin Islands and chairs the Committee on Government Operations, Consumer Affairs, Energy, Environment and Planning.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science and Environmental Studies from Hampton University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of the Virgin Islands.

Her professional career has included service as Director of the Virgin Islands Energy Office, Environmental Affairs Manager at the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority, Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Authority and Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources.

Barnes has also served in leadership roles within the Virgin Islands Democratic Party and remains actively involved in community and professional organisations. A sought-after empowerment speaker, she has conducted her workshop, Celebrating the Authentic You, for the past 15 years.

The Convention will also feature remarks from the Political Leader of the Nevis Reformation Party, the Hon. Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge, along with presentations from other representatives of the Party, fraternal greetings and other special features.

The NRP says this year’s Convention will bring together members, supporters and the wider public as the Party reflects on its heritage and outlines its vision for the future.
