All Stars Goes 5 And 0 But Only Just

As the Tape ball Cricket tournament, hosted by the Youth and Sports Department, continued at the ET Willet Park, on Wednesday 24th October, there was much excitement –especially in the second game of the evening.

Calypso came up against All Stars and oh what a game it was!

Calypso batted their way soundly to 82 for 1 in their allotted 10 overs, on the back of an impressive knock by Ev Webbe, but there was always the feeling that they could be just about 10 runs short.

However, when they bowled, they got the dangerous Tonito Willet early and restricted the even more dangerous Jamie Cornelius to below another half a ton.

It came down to the final over, with all of 11 runs required by the Stars and Frank Monzac entrusted that crucial over to one of the youngsters in the team.

The young bowler cracked under the pressure and a wide and a no ball, did not help his team’s cause.

An emphatic maximum by Akadianto Willet, effectively brought it home for the nervy All-stars men.

The All-stars team maintains their comfortable lead at the top of the points table, winning all five matches played so far.
