Alzarri Joseph Retained By WICB

The Leeward Island Cricket Board (LICB) would like to congratulate Alzarri Joseph on been one of the 12 players who has received a central contract with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for a period of 1 year. Central contracts for WICB men cricketers range from US$100,000 to US$150,000.

Joseph has represented Antigua and Barbuda at the Under 13, under 15,under 19 and the senior team. Joseph was also a member of the West Indies under 19 squad which captured the ICC Youth World Cup in Bangladesh earlier this year. He played his first Test Match against India in August 2016.

Alzarri Joseph has played 10 first class matched for the Leeward Island Hurricanes to date he has taken 27 wickets with a best bowling performance of 7 for 46. Joseph was part of the West Indies team who defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the third test match in which Pakistan won 2-1.

There are 90 additional players on contract for the six franchises and their salaries range from US$15,600 to $30,000. The Digicel Sports Max 4-Day Professional Cricket League begins next Friday, November 11 to 14th with the Leeward Island Hurricanes taking on the Barbados Pride at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium in St.Kitts. The Super 50 is scheduled for January to February 2017.
Kieran Powell will captain the Leeward Island Hurricanes and his Vice Captain will be Rahkeem Cornwall.
