The 2026 Elvis “STAR” Browne Women’s Football League got off to an exciting start on Saturday, June 20, with Bath United proving that they are a team to watch this season.
“We are not just here to participate; we are here to compete,” Claxton declared confidently.
The coach explained that preparations had not been without challenges, as many of his players are still in school and had recently been occupied with examinations, limiting the team’s training schedule.
Despite these obstacles, Claxton praised his players for their commitment and hard work, warning rival teams not to underestimate Bath United’s capabilities.
“Our girls have been training hard, and I believe they have what it takes to surprise a lot of people this season,” he said.
Bath United quickly backed up their coach’s words on the field, defeating Security Forces United 4-1 in an impressive opening performance.
Meanwhile, the Cayon Rockettes delivered the most emphatic result of the day, overwhelming St. Paul’s United with a commanding 7-0 victory.
