Annual Cross Island Run Set For Labour Day

The second annual island wide relay run is all set for May 5th 2014 or Labour Day.
Chief organizers, Reggie Douglas and James Weekes explained in a recent interview that the route will be very similar to the one used last year.

The athletes will commence at the ET Willet Park and the relay stations thereafter will be as follows:
Four Seasons main entrance
Remax
Top of Hurricane Hill
Newcastle Police Station
St.James’ Anglican church
Butler’s Seventh Day Adventist Church
Top of Zion Hill
Top of Pond Hill
Brown Hill Bus stop
Climax at the ET Willet Park
The run will cover the entire island for approximately 31 kilometers with each team consisting of ten persons and each person expected to run approximately 3.0 kilometers before handing off the baton.

Registration is only $50.00 per each adult and $25.00 for school children. Registration forms are available at the Nevis Tourism office and also from Reggie Douglas and James Weekes.

Participants will receive T-shirts and a complimentary buffet styled breakfast hosted by the popular Boddie’s Café.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated as was the case last year, to the Nevis Maternal Health Fund.
The race will commence at 8 am sharp.
