The Charlestown preschool students, teachers, parents and other well-wishers, were in for a major disappointment on Tuesday 26th March.
That was the day scheduled for their annual sports meet, at the ET Willet Park and the meet commenced with much pomp and ceremony, as the children looked really smart, during the march past the two houses.
That was followed by an inspection of the troupes, by the distinguished patron, Mr. Mc Elerie Lake.
However, shortly thereafter, down came the rain and it fell for an extended time.
After what seemed like an eternity, the officials aborted any further efforts to continue.
It was then announced that the meet had been postponed to Thursday 28th March, at 10 am, at the same venue.
