The Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School (EPPS) hosted its 8th annual relay festival on Sunday, 1st February, at the Nevis Athletic Stadium.
The event began with a brief opening ceremony, which included a prayer led by Headmistress Jessica Liburd, followed by remarks from one of the main sponsors, Mackie Tross of A1 Farms. The other major sponsor, Caribe Eats**, was represented by Dion Herbert.
Athletes competing on the day represented the following primary schools: Charlestown Primary School, St. Thomas’ Primary School, Ivor Walters Primary School, Joycelyn Liburd Primary School, and the host school, Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School. Several athletic clubs also participated, adding to the excitement of the relay events.
A sizeable and enthusiastic crowd was on hand and was thoroughly entertained throughout the day.
At the end of the competition, Charlestown Primary School emerged as the champion school.
