The official launch of the Inter High Schools athletic championship, sponsored by the Bank of Nevis, was held on Thursday, March 7th, by the organizing committee. The ceremony took place in the Communication Unit conference room and was chaired by Val Henry.
Several individuals made remarks during the event, including Hon. Troy Liburd, the Minister of Sports. Mr. Denrick Liburd, the Ag CEO of the Bank of Nevis, handed over a $20,000.00 cheque to the Minister. He encouraged both schools to strive for excellence during the championship.
The patrons for the event were also introduced: former CSS students Serissa Rawlins and Lorenzo Jeffers. Ms. Nichola Fraser provided logistics for the championship, which will take place over two days (Saturday, March 9th and Sunday, March 10th) at the Nevis Athletic Stadium.
The championship will include field and track events and will commence at noon on both days. Adults will be charged $20.00 per day, while children above the age of five will be charged $10.00 per day.
