On Monday 9th January, a brief but significant ceremony was held at the VOJN Primary School.
On that day, the New Vision Togetherness Sports club, which is based in the St. James’ area, presented items of sporting equipment to the school.
Making the presentation was Wendell MICEY Wallace, who pointed out that the aim of the club and Mr. Selkridge, who assisted in making the presentation possible, was to ensure that the children were well prepared for the sports term and especially for the upcoming inter-primary sports meet, as they want the school to secure more medals and make them proud.
He noted that it is an ongoing project and that sometime in the future, a similar gesture will be extended to the other school in the parish of St. James, which is the St. James’ Primary School.
Coach Dulani Phillip accepted the gifts on behalf of the school and explained that they included parachutes, cones and twelve slalom poles.
Headmistress Mrs. Shae Wilkin was ecstatic, as she expressed her thanks to the donors and opined that her students would use the equipment to excel at the upcoming sports events.
