The Violet O. Jeffers-Nicholls Primary School held its annual sports meet on Friday, March 6, but persistent rainfall disrupted the day’s events and forced an early end to the competition.
The distinguished patrons for the meet were Ayletta Daniel and Marvan France, both past students and former athletes of the school.
Despite the challenging weather conditions and several unplanned interruptions due to heavy showers, the young athletes displayed determination and enthusiasm throughout the day, generating excitement among spectators.
However, the final two races had to be aborted due to the incessant rainfall, and as a result, the final point standings have not yet been determined.
It is understood that the two outstanding races may be completed at a later date, after which the official results of the meet will be finalised.
