The Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School (EPPS) staged its annual cross-country championships on Friday, January 23, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and strong support from the school community.
Four races were contested across the age groups. Kindergarten to Grade Two students began their race at the school, running through Montpelier, up the hill, and back to the school grounds. For the Grades Three to Six competitors, the courses were more demanding, with girls starting at Beaumont and boys at Clay Ghaut, passing through Cox and Montpelier, ascending the hill, and finishing at the school.

A notable highlight of the event was the dominance of Spanish-speaking students in the senior races. Roxana claimed victory in the Senior Girls’ race, while Engel captured the Senior Boys title after holding off a determined challenge from Teadrian Tross.
