Autopsy confirmed that fifteen year old died from Asphyxia by Hanging

The 15 year old Washington Archibald High School student who was discovered dead in the bathroom of her father’s home on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 has died from Asphyxia due to hanging.

This was confirmed by a Press Release issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force. The release indicated that an autopsy was conducted on the body of the late 15 year old Azaria Hanley of Shadwell Housing Extension on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 by the Resident Pathologist.

The autopsy results concluded that the cause of death was a result of Asphyxia by Hanging. The body was handed over to next of kin for further funeral arrangement.

Azaria was found by her father hanging in the bathroom at about 6: 45 a.m. Officers of Criminal Investigation Department, Crime Scene Unit and Special Victim Unit were summoned to the scene.

The District Medical Officer Dr. Reginad Oloughin visited the scene and pronounced the juvenile dead.
