Shayne Moseley scored his first century for the West Indies Championship 2023 as he top-scored with 112 which included 17 fours and a six for Barbados Pride against Windward Islands Volcanoes on Thursday. The Bajans however fell 10 runs short of the Windward Islands Volcanoes’ first innings total of 237, as the Pride were all out for 227 at the Queen’s Park Oval late on the second day of the fifth and final round of matches.

Left-arm spinner Larry Edward spun a web after lunch as he wrapped up the Barbados tail, to finish with figures of 29.4-13-43-6. Pride’s captain Shane Dowrich was not out on 17 when his team’s innings folded. Earlier in the innings, Rashawn Worrell posted a patient 35 to share in a 101-run stand with Moseley.

The Windwards were shocked early in their second innings trying to build on the slim 10-run lead. Kimani Melius, Johann Jeremiah, Shermon Lewis, skipper Alick Athanaze were all back in the dressing room within the last hour of play. Left-arm spiner Jomel Warrican had figures of 2-2-0-2 as the match is intriguingly poised going into the third day.
