On Saturday 2nd April, a very interesting cricket match was played at the ET Willet Park between the women of the visiting Bardsey Sports club out of Leeds in England and the Nevis female hard ball Cricket team, which was complimented by four under 15 male cricketers.
The visitors batted first and scored an impressive 127.
The Nevis women’s team fought tooth and nail to get to the score but fell short by 9 runs in the enthralling encounter.
Under 15 cricketer Malik Semper top scored with 47, while Kerisha Powell and Senaldo Willet, also played outstanding innings for the home team.
Meanwhile in a male encounter on that same day, the Calypso Cricket team engaged the Bardsey male team.
Calypso batted first and scored an impressive 149, on the back of well played half a ton by Ernie France.
When rain washed out play, the visitors were interestingly poised on 20 for no loss after 3.5 overs.
