Sports journalist, Curtis Morton and his wife returned home from church sometime after 3:00 p.m. and upon arrival they quickly noticed that their home was totally ransacked.

It was reported that the intruder(s) tried to gain entry from a back door but after a failed attempt a louver at the back of the house was broken out to gain entry inside.

Morton was of the view that the intruder(s) was seeking money because other viable items were not taken. Morton described the condition of his house as if Hurricane Hugo had passed through it.
