Breaking News:Immigration officer, son, slapped with drug possession charges

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 21, 2018 – An immigration officer who was arrested and charged with perverting the course of justice, has been slapped with drug charges.

According to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Lisa Francis of Conaree Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis.

Police said Francis was also charged for the “offence of Doing an Act Tending and Intended to Pervert the Course of Justice, Contrary to Common Law which was committed on the July 28, 2017 in Basseterre.”

Two males arrested when the house in Conaree was raided by police, have also been charged with drug offences.

“Ticardo Francis of Conaree was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for offences of possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis,” police said.

Ticardo Francis was granted bail in the sum of EC$15,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on May 14, 2018.

“Jack Crawford of Conaree was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of Cannabis. He was granted bail in the sum of EC$15,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on May14, 2018,” police said.

The police did not disclose whether Lisa Francis is still in custody or has been granted bail.
