The Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship officially launched its Business Licence Reform Initiative today, Wednesday, November 04, 2026, at a ceremony held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

A significant component of the reform will see responsibility for the business licence application process transferred from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, placing the process under the direct oversight of the ministry responsible for fostering entrepreneurship and advancing the growth of the small business sector.
At the heart of the initiative is the introduction of a new digital portal designed to modernise, streamline and bring greater transparency to the business licensing process. To access the portal, visit: businesslicenceskn.gov.kn
The platform will provide applicants with a centralised location to access information from referral agencies, review required documentation and familiarise themselves with processing timelines.
It will also allow business owners to track the status of submitted documents, monitor their applications at every stage and schedule appointments, making the overall process more efficient, accessible and convenient.
The significance of the occasion was underscored by remarks from Prime Minister, the Honourable Dr Terrance Drew; Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, Honourable Konris Maynard; and Minister of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the Honourable Samal Duggins.
The reform represents an important step towards improving the ease of doing business in Saint Kitts and Nevis, reducing administrative hurdles and creating a more streamlined, transparent and business-friendly environment for entrepreneurs and prospective business owners.
