News of the tragic deaths of Mario Andrew and Caroline Rodrigues of Brown Pasture has left our community deeply saddened. Two lives have been taken, two families are grieving, and an entire community is left asking questions and struggling to comprehend such a heartbreaking loss.

At times like this, words can feel inadequate. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of those who loved Mario and Caroline, but I pray that God will surround their families and loved ones with His comfort, strength, and peace in the difficult days ahead.

But today, beyond politics, beyond differences, and beyond everything that may divide us, we must remember our shared humanity. Every life matters. Every family matters. And every loss leaves a wound in our community.

Nevis is a small island, and when tragedy strikes, its pain is felt far beyond the immediate families. Today, I ask that we keep the families of Mario and Caroline in our thoughts and prayers.

May God comfort the broken-hearted, give strength to those who mourn, and guide the hands of those entrusted with uncovering the truth.

May God have mercy upon our island and help us find our way back to a place where every person can feel safe, valued, and protected.

May the souls of Mario Andrew and Caroline Rodrigues rest in eternal peace.
