CANDLE LIGHT VIGIL HELD FOR DELI

Combermere-Nevis-Scores of individuals, showed up at the Combermere Primary school on the evening of Thursday 22nd February.

The main purpose was for them to show solidarity with the family of the late, beloved teacher at the school, Delceta DELI Ward.

Everyone gathered at the school, sometime after 6pm and after prayer and words from Headmistress, Mrs. Shay Wilkin, the procession marched with lit candles, to the former residence of the deceased teacher.

At the home, former Education officer, Mrs. Ermelita Elliot chaired the proceedings and tributes were paid in poetry, songs and speeches.

It was truly a touching ceremony and some persons could be seen shedding tears.

Among those represented were: The Education department; the Nevis Teachers’ union, schools across the island and civil society.

The funeral service of the late educator, will be held at the Combermere Methodist Church on Saturday 24th February, starting at 10 am.
