Candle light vigil set to be held for former Bank of Nevis employee, Everette Hanley

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Today, Friday, April 24, 2015 marks one week since Everette ‘Ev’ Hanley, the Bank of Nevis, Credit Manager was attacked and gunned down outside of his residence in Hamilton Estate. The gruesome event took place on Friday, April 17, 2015 in what is believed to have been a ‘robbery gone bad’.

It was a gloomy experience walking into the Bank of Nevis today, as a memorial display was laid out at the main entrance of the establishment in honor and memory of the deceased. A condolence book was featured as part of the exhibit. Hundreds of customers of the bank had signed and wrote tributes.

A candle light vigil is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in memory of Hanley.

Family members, coworkers and friends of the deceased are asked to assemble at the Nevis Corporative Credit Union, Chapel Street, Charlestown where the candle light vigil will commence at 6:00 p.m. Persons will march to the Bank of Nevis, Main Street Charlestown where the event will conclude.

The funeral service is scheduled to be held at the Charlestown Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.

Hanley’s death marks the fourth homicide in Nevis for the year 2015.
