Carlon Tuckett

Carlon Tuckett, son of the former West Indies player, Carl Tuckett and Sonya Tuckett, is set to leave Nevis today, to join his team mates in the Leeward Islands under 15 team, which is set to participate in the WICB under 15 regional tournament set to commence in Grenada on Monday 25th July.

Young Tuckett confirmed in an interview on Tuesday that he is the only selectee from Nevis and there are some four persons included from St.Kitts.

Tuckett vowed to do his best to ensure that his team comes out on top in the tournament and though he will be focused on his batting, he is also open to utilizing his bowling skills and wicket keeping ability, once he is required to do so by his captain.

Immediately after the Grenada tournament, young Tuckett will join his teammates in a Barbados youth team which he represented last year, on a tour to England.

Last year, Tuckett was one of the stand out players on a similar tour and got some good scores, including a half century.

Although he noted that it would be the longest time, he would have ever been away from his parents, he stated that he knows he would be well taken care of and would be staying in touch with his family on a regular basis.

Also leaving the island today but this time to represent the Leeward Islands under 19 team, are Nevisians Ross Powell and Kion Pemberton.
