Gingerland – Nevis –Mrs. Leontine Clarke celebrated her 100th birthday on Thursday 21st September in fantastic style.
She was visited by family members and friends throughout the day, but the highlight of her day was a celebration program that featured The Governor General, Dame Marcella Liburd; Deputy Governor-General, Mrs. Hyleta Liburd; Ministers of government- Hon. Tory Liburd and Hon. Eric Evelyn; representatives of the Social Services department in Nevis and also from St. Kitts and members of the Gingerland Seventh-day Adventist church who all made presentations.
Dame Marcella Liburd presented the centenarian with a medal of honour.
In response, Mrs. Clarke expressed thanks to all who were in attendance and to her family members, neighbours and friends, who have all made contributions to her welfare.
She stated that she could not believe that she was one hundred years old but thanked God for his mercies towards her.
