Cervical Cancer Awareness Month: Free Pap Smears Available

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and women are encouraged to take a proactive step in protecting their health.

On Saturday, January 31st, 2026, a FREE Pap smear will be offered at all Health Centres from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This important screening helps detect cervical cancer early, when treatment is most effective.

**Important preparation guidelines before your appointment:

* Avoid sexual intercourse for **72 hours** prior to your Pap smear.
* Do not use vaginal medicines, spermicidal creams, foams, or jellies for **24 hours** before the test.
* Avoid scheduling your test during your menstrual period; the ideal time is **one week after your period ends**.

For additional information, please contact your **nearest Health Centre**.

Take charge of your health—**early detection saves lives**.

Thank you.
