On Tuesday, 1st July, only one match was possible in the Runako Morton/TDC Primary Schools Cricket tournament.
This was because all of the matches scheduled were affected by rain.
Charlestown Primary engaged the Ivor Walters Primary School, at the unofficial Meritzer Williams Park, situated at Ramsbury.
Charlestown batted first and managed 60 in their allotted 12 overs.
During the 8th over of the Ivor Walters Primary response, the game was interestingly poised, with the score reading 35 for 2, but Zakeem Bailey bowled a screaming yorker that made it 35 for 3. Then down came the rain.
When the calculations were done, the Charlestown team was awarded the game, winning by three runs on the DLS method.
Summarised scores: CPS 60 for 4 in 12 overs: Divanand Ghaness 26
T’Vern Herbert 3 for 11
IWPS 35 for 3 in 8 overs: T’Vern Herbert 14*
Terique Roberts 2 for 5
CPS won by 3 runs on the DLS method
