The 2025 edition of the Christena Memorial Camp officially wrapped up on Friday, August 1st, with a successful graduation ceremony celebrating the achievements of 46 young swimmers.
Camp Coordinator Terri Andrews expressed her satisfaction with this year’s program, noting that all participants either learned to swim or significantly improved their swimming abilities. “The camp was a great success,” she stated. “We are proud of each child who took part and grateful for the support that made it all possible.”
Special thanks were extended to Premier Mark Brantley and the Nevis Island Administration for championing the initiative to ensure that every child and resident on Nevis learns to swim, a goal aligned with public safety and community development.
Director of Sports, Aljay Newton, was also present and assisted in presenting certificates to the proud graduates. Two ceremonies were held on the day—one in the morning and another in the afternoon—to accommodate the number of participants and their families.
The Christena Memorial Camp continues to play a vital role in equipping the youth of Nevis with life-saving skills, fostering both confidence and community spirit through sport.
