Congratulations Sir Governor General Knighted by Her Majesty the Queen

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 07, 2015 (SKNIS)—Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Second has graciously conferred the accolade of Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (G.C.M.G.) on His Excellency the Governor-General Mr. S.W. Tapley Seaton, C.V.O., Q.C., J.P.

Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, paid a call on His Excellency at Government House on December 07 and congratulated him on behalf of himself and the Government and People of St. Kitts and Nevis on this signal honour.

“I want today to express on behalf of the Cabinet of St. Christopher and Nevis our distinct pleasure that Her Majesty the Queen has seen it fit to further honour and elevate one of our sons of the soil in the personality of Sir Tapley Seaton, our Governor-General. Indeed, I said sir, a description that we had not used before when way back sometime in May it was, Mr. Tapley Seaton undertook to do service to this country in the Office of the Governor General,” Prime Minister Harris said.

His Excellency Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, G.C.M.G., C.V.O., Q.C., J.P., thanked the Prime Minister for his kind sentiments and reiterated that it was an honour for him to serve the people and nation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
