Corner Shop Level Best of Three Series

The grand CLASH OF THE SHOPS Football tournament, being hosted by the Bath United Football club, is set for a fitting climax, come this Sunday 4th October.

This, as the Corner Shop, levelled the series in fantastic fashion, on Sunday 27th September.

The Friends’ Bar, already one up in the series, looked set to ensure that there would not be any game three, as very early in the first half, they secured two strikes and the Corner Shop players, looked to be totally out of it.

However, it seemed as if Coach Jamir Claxton, relayed an urgent message from his Dad, Joe Claxton and suddenly the Corner Shop players, were a rejuvenated bunch.  The Corner Shop not only equalized the scoreline, without a whisper from the Friends’ Bar but went on to score four more goals, as the Friends’ goalie, Alfred Newton, was made to sweat, despite the rainy conditions towards the end of the game.

Final score: Corner Shop 6 Friends’ Bar 2

Goalscorers:
Corner Shop: CJ Parris 3; Elston Williams 2; Demario newton 1
Friends Bar: Keon Smithen 1 and they were also gifted with an own goal.

So, Sunday 4th October is the day for the grand finale.

Game two; An all-female encounter-Team A versus team B at 5.30 pm
