Cricket Festival to Return

Newly re-elected President of the Nevis Cricket Association, Keith Scarborough on Thursday revealed that among the plans that his Association will be rolling out this year, will be a return to the Cricket festival that was originated under the presidency of Ronald Powell.

It’s a great idea and we will this year host that one day Cricket festival that Ronald previously implemented. We will get some of the former players from within the Federation to interact with the young players. We may not be able to afford to bring in regional cricketers, but we will have it this year,’ he said.

Scarborough also noted that his Association has already written to several business entities seeking sponsorship for the various tournaments that will be held this year and is optimistic that the responses will be positive.

He indicated that his Association will have its first meeting on Thursday 16th January and plans for the start of the local 2016 tournament will be finalized, which this year will include an official opening ceremony.

‘The focus this year will be on the young players. My Association feels like I do, that this is the way to go. “We want to see more Nevisians on the Leewards team and the West Indies team and we want to see Nevis return to its winning ways”. He stated.
