The 2025 edition of the Five for Fun Cricket Program, aimed at developing primary school students in the sport, took place on Thursday, May 8, at the Republic Bank Nevis Branch.
Now in its third year, the program is primarily sponsored by Republic Bank and is coordinated in collaboration with the West Indies Cricket Board and the cricket associations of both St. Kitts and Nevis.
The event was chaired by Beliesa McDonald-Natta, Marketing Specialist at Republic Bank. Among the speakers who addressed the gathering were Dennis Phillip, President of the St. Kitts Cricket Association; Carlisle Powell, President of the Nevis Cricket Association; Mrs. Pamela Herbert-Daniel, Country Manager at Republic Bank; Jamir Claxton, Principal Assistant Secretary; Aljay Newton, Director of Sports; Ricky Skeritt, former President of Cricket West Indies; and Stuart Williams, former West Indies cricketer.
All of the speakers praised Republic Bank for its significant sponsorship of the program and encouraged the young cricketers present to seize the opportunity to excel in the sport. Nevis has won the previous two finals played between the islands, but Mr. Dennis Phillip has vowed that this year will be different.
