The Leeward Islands Under-17 team registered a convincing victory over Guyana as the regional tournament continued on Wednesday, August 20, and Thursday, August 21.

In the first innings, Guyana was bowled out for 124 runs, with Mohabir (32) top-scoring. The standout performer for the Leewards was Jathan Edward, who claimed 4 wickets for 35 runs.

The Leewards replied with 154, led by Lawshorn Bergan’s unbeaten 38, while bowlers Ram and Baksh picked up three wickets each for Guyana.

In their second innings, Guyana managed 129, with contributions from Hetmyer (28) and Apple (25). The Leewards’ attack again proved effective, as Challenger and Edward each grabbed three wickets.

Chasing a target of 100 for victory, the Leewards cruised to 103 for 2, thanks to a commanding 64 from Tanez Francis.

The Leewards secured the win by eight wickets, underlining their dominance across both batting and bowling departments.
