Three young cricketers from Nevis were officially recognised and supported during a brief ceremony held on Wednesday, March 11, at the Ramsbury Playing Field.
The event served as a send-off for members of the Youth of Nevis Cricket Team who have been selected to the Leeward Islands Under-15 Cricket Team. The squad is preparing for the upcoming regional Under-15 tournament in Jamaica, scheduled for March 29 to April 6.
The players honoured were Aeden Williams, Nicklos Hero, and Ryan Marchand.
During the ceremony, representatives from Nevis Tire World, David and Arnold, offered words of encouragement and presented each cricketer with a personal cheque to assist with travel and tournament preparations.
In response, the young athletes expressed gratitude to their coaches and sponsors, pledging to represent their island with pride and to make their families and the wider Nevisian community proud.
Additionally, several players from Nevis have been selected to attend a preparatory training camp in Antigua and Barbuda, where the final Leeward Islands squad will be determined.
Those selected include Kamari France, Deshawn James, Demari Prentice, Nicklos Hero, Ryan Marchand, Aeden Williams, and Karese Farrell.
The initiative highlights continued investment in youth development and the growing strength of cricket in Nevis, as young players seize opportunities to compete at the regional level.
