The Department of Technology, in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is hosting a three-day Cybersecurity Workshop Assessment aimed at strengthening cyber resilience and enhancing the security of government systems across Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The workshop brings together employees from various sectors across the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis, providing participants with practical knowledge and tools to identify cybersecurity risks, strengthen preparedness, and enhance the country’s overall cyber resilience.
Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, Hon. Konris Maynard, addressed the opening session and underscored the critical importance of cybersecurity in protecting government data, safeguarding digital infrastructure, and maintaining public trust.
Minister Maynard also highlighted the important role that cybersecurity will play in the successful rollout of the Government’s electronic identification (eID) system, noting that robust security measures are essential as the Federation continues its transition towards greater digitalisation of public services.
Over the course of the three-day workshop, participants will engage in discussions and assessments covering key areas of cybersecurity readiness, risk management, and threat preparedness and response. The overarching goal is to strengthen Saint Kitts and Nevis’ capacity to prevent, withstand, and respond effectively to cyber threats.
