Defence Force soldier charged in accident that killed his brother

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 21, 2018 – Police have arrested and charged the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident that resulted in the death of the lone passenger.

Police released the autopsy report of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force soldier who died as a result of a tragic vehicle accident.

The post mortem on the body of the Private Kechel Pemberton of Sandy Point on April 16 was conducted by Resident Pathologist, Dr. Adrian Nunez, who concluded “death was as a result of hypovolemic shock and multiple traumatic injuries due to a traffic accident.”

Private Pemberton died in the accident that occurred along the island’s main road in the vicinity of Brimstone Hill on April 13.

P9122, is owned and was driven at the time of the accident by his brother, Kyle Woodley of Newton Ground.

Woodley is also a private in the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force and has been charged on a warrant, in the first instance, for the offence of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving.
