Delano ‘Inches’ Browne remanded to prison for armed robbery

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Delano ‘Inches’ Browne of Cotton Ground was formally arrested and charged for one (1) count of ‘Armed Robbery’ and three (3) counts of Assault with intent to rob and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

It is alleged that Delano, accompanied by another assailant, attempted to rob the manager of Yachtman’s Grill, Gregory Slagon, his wife and other relatives in the parking lot of the establishment, located at Nelson’s Spring on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 sometime after 9:00 p.m.

In an effort to protect his family and business Mr. Slagon fired a number of rounds at the assailants striking both of them. Police officers were called to the scene, and acting on information received, members of the police force searched a home in Cotton Ground where they found Delano bleeding from a wound in his foot.

He was transported to the Alexandra Hospital where he was treated and remained for a few days. He was later released.

Later, this media house understood that another male showed up at the hospital with what was suspected to be a bullet graze to his arm. Subsequently it was alleged that his story was that he received the injury at his workplace.

Officers continued their investigation and on Friday, May 17, 2013 Delano was taken back into police custody and was charged for the offense.

He was the lone person to be remanded to prison for the crime. The second suspect was never charged.
