Nevis — The Department of Community Development honoured five distinguished citizens for their outstanding service and contributions to their communities during its fourth annual Unsung Heroes Award Ceremony, held on Thursday, September 10, at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park.
The annual Unsung Heroes Awards celebrate dedicated community members who give freely of their time and talents in service to others. These are the volunteers whose quiet acts of kindness lift others, and the everyday leaders whose modest spirits often mask the true scale of their impact.
The five honorees recognised for 2026 were:
St. Paul’s Parish: Mr Othniel Daly
St. Thomas’ Parish: Mr Donford Wilkinson
St. George’s Parish: Ms Elmeader Brookes
St. John’s Parish: Ms Veronica Brandy
St. James’ Parish: Mr Wendell Wallace
Each honoree was recognised for their commitment to community service, their willingness to assist others, and the meaningful contributions they have made to the lives of individuals and families within their respective communities.
