Department of Education–Nevis Announces Summer Break and Key Dates for the 2026–2027 School Year

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, July 8, 2026 – The Department of Education–Nevis has officially announced the conclusion of the 2025–2026 academic year and is extending warm wishes to all students, teachers, school staff, and families for a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer vacation.

As schools close for the summer, the Department expressed its heartfelt appreciation to educators, support staff, students, and parents for their dedication, hard work, and partnership in making the academic year a successful one.

“The 2025–2026 school year has been one of growth, achievement, and resilience,” the Department stated. “We thank everyone who contributed to creating positive learning environments and supporting the academic and personal development of our students.”

The Department confirmed the following end-of-term and reopening dates:

School Closing Dates
Students: Wednesday, July 8, 2026
Teachers and School Staff: Friday, July 10, 2026
Return-to-Duty Dates
Principals and Deputy Principals: Monday, August 24, 2026
All School Staff: Monday, August 31, 2026
First Day of School

Students will return for the start of the 2026–2027 academic year on Monday, September 7, 2026.

During the vacation period, the Department encourages students to relax, spend quality time with family and friends, remain active, and continue reading and engaging in educational activities to help maintain their academic skills.

Parents and guardians are also encouraged to support their children’s learning throughout the summer by promoting positive habits and ensuring they are well prepared for the new school year.

The Department of Education–Nevis wishes everyone a happy, healthy, and memorable summer break and looks forward to welcoming students and staff back in September for another exciting year of learning, discovery, and success.
