The Department of Sports – Nevis is deeply disappointed and disturbed by a recent act of vandalism and burglary involving the theft of electrical wiring from the light poles at the Bath Playing Field.
This blatant criminal behaviour is not only illegal but also directly undermines the development of our community, particularly our young people who depend on this facility for football development activities. We view this as a selfish and destructive act that will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
This incident is not isolated. There is growing concern about what appears to be a targeted pattern of theft involving the copper materials from light poles across our sporting infrastructure. These actions are creating a serious impediment to the effective use of our sporting facilities.
The Department of Sports intends to work closely with local law enforcement, and a full investigation into this matter is already underway. We are committed to identifying those responsible. Anyone found guilty of these acts will face the full consequences of the law.
