Digicel Strengthens Partnership with Reach for Recovery

Basseterre, St. Kitts (September 10, 2013) – Digicel St. Kitts & Nevis Limited has been committed to supporting many charitable organizations in the twin island Federation since its inception

Digicel is keen on giving back, and so, upon invitation to the 2nd annual ‘Shades of Pink’ fundraising event by the Reach for Recovery SKB Breast Cancer Support Group, Digicel’s partnership was a definite yes.

Reach for Recovery is an Extraordinary team of individuals with a passion for educating the people of St. Kitts and Nevis about the forms of the deadly disease, Cancer.

They provide counselling for persons currently battling cancer and recovery sessions who those have overcame cancer.

Reach for Recovery SKB also host a range of fundraising and awareness activities such as the annual ‘Shades of Pink’ event.Once again, Digicel St Kitts & Nevis is a proud sponsor of the themed colour experience, ‘Shades of Pink’.

The event will be held at the tranquil & beautiful Palm Court Gardens, Fortlands, on National Heroes Day, and will be a celebration of the lives of the silent heroes who have fallen and to honour those who are presently battling breast cancer in our nation.

The event will be hosted by Digicel’s Marketing Manager, Marsha Chatterjee & Junika Berry – Miss Digicel Haynes-Smith Caribbean Talented Teen 2012/2013. A silent auction will be a feature of the event and Digicel has donated a BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone for this segment.

The Digicel DL600 Smartphone with 1 month free 4G Data service will also be raffled for a lucky patron to receive in addition to several top up cards.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month however, Cancer has no special season – it can affect anyone at any time and in this regard Reach for Recovery is happy to raise funds for mammograms and other financial needs for women, especially those battling Breast Cancer.

The general public is therefore invited to attend the ‘Shades of Pink’ event to celebrate the strength of great women. Patrons and guests are also encouraged to wear something pink in support of this worthy cause on Monday, 16th September, 2013, powered by Digicel 4G.
