Diplomatic Relations Established Between The Islamic Republic of the Gambia and the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis

On June 6, 2016, the Government of the Islamic Republic of the Gambia and the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis established diplomatic relations by the signing of a Joint Communique’ witnessed by H.E. Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of the Gambia to the United Nations and H.E. Sam Condor, Ambassador Permanent Representative of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries is a symbolic step in nation building as it will foster the strengthening of bonds of friendship between the two countries in economic, cultural, political and humanitarian aspects.

The parties view the June 6, 2016 signing as a mutually beneficial step in diplomacy that will help to bolster our quest for deeper South-South cooperation.
