This Media House has been informed by Police Officers of the CID, Basseterre Police Station, that they responded to a report of a drowning incident at Newton Bay Road in the vicinity of Quality Trading Supplies about 1:50 pm on Monday 30 September 2013.
Initial investigation revealed that about 13:45 hrs Hilton Ritchen of Brumble Street, Newtown got in to sea alone, and a few minutes later his motionless body was pulled from the water by a relative.
The District Medical Doctor was summoned to the scene, and pronounced him dead. A Post Mortem will be performed on the body at a later date to determine the exact cause of death.
