Drug bust in St Kitts, one suspect killed

(CHARLESTOWN NEVIS)-Reports reaching this media house indicate that the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, acting on a tip, successfully intercepted a vessel transporting illegal drugs to St. Kitts in the Conaree area of the island, today Thursday, October 1, 2015. The vessel is said to have come from Antigua.

Speaking at a Press Briefing earlier today, members of the police High Command indicated that the sting which was undertaken by the police was able to net many bales of marijuana.

It was also revealed that one man, a non-national of the Federation, was shot and killed by the police after he and a companion also fired at the police.

Reports are that the incident involved two non nationals, who were on the vessel. Two nationals of the Federation were also found in the vicinity.

According to the High Command, three persons are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
