Dwight James, a thirty-four (34) year-old resident of Farm Site, Sandy Point, St. Kitts, has been sentenced to eighteen (18) years in His Majesty’s Prison for the offence of manslaughter due to diminished capacity. Mr James was initially charged with murder, following an incident that occurred on August 8, 2022, which resulted in the death of Luis K. James, also from Farm Site, Sandy Point.
Mr. James pleaded guilty to the charge on November 28, 2024, and was sentenced on February 3, 2025. Time spent on remand will count toward his sentence, and he will be eligible for early release after serving one-third of his sentence with good behaviour. The sentence was handed down at the High Court in Basseterre, St. Kitts, by His Lordship Justice Iain Morley, KC.
