Early Detection Saves Lives

Early detection continues to prove its life-saving impact, as demonstrated by the success of last weekend’s 2-in-1 Prostate and Pulmonary Screening initiative on Nevis.

A total of 592 men registered for prostate screening, while 204 individuals were screened for pulmonary care. Additionally, 105 chest X-rays were requested—clear evidence of the critical importance of accessible and early health screening services.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to Urology Associates, DC Pulmonary Medicine, all visiting physicians, our dedicated nursing staff, medical support teams, and the many volunteers and partner organisations who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success of this initiative. Their professionalism, compassion, and commitment continue to strengthen the public health system and foster trust within our communities.

Together, we are building a healthier Nevis—one screening, one partnership, and one life at a time.

Coming up next: a Free Pap Smear Screening Drive on January 31, 2026, at all health centres across Nevis.
