ST JOHN’S, Antigua, May 08 2016 – At 9:48 am on Sunday, Antigua shook. An earthquake with a magnitude 5.2 rattled the island but there were no reports of injuries or damages.
The Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the University of the West Indies (UWI) said that the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres.
It said that the earthquake was located 52 km north of the capital St. John’s109 km east north east of Basseterre, St. Kitts and 150 km, north north west of Point-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe.
In recent months, the Caribbean has recorded several tremors.
