On Monday, 14th July, at the Nevis Athletic stadium, a brief but meaningful ceremony was held to signal the commencement of the annual Eddy Caines Summer Football program.
As was the case last year, the program is being run in collaboration with the Nevis Sports Department.
In his brief remarks, Eddy Caines noted that the program has now arrived at its 20th year- a significant achievement.
He thanked the many sponsors and volunteers who have helped to make the football training camp the success it has been over the years.
Also making brief remarks on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Sports was Mr. Jamir Claxton, Assistant. Permanent Secretary.
He congratulated Mr. Caines on the significant milestone and thanked him for his sacrifice and enduring spirit.
Immediately after the ceremony, the coaches took over seventy young footballers to the pitch for the first session of the two-week program.
