The Education Media Unit (EMU) of the Ministry of Education St. Kitts and Nevis is encouraging the public to show support for persons with Down syndrome as the world prepares to observe World Down Syndrome Day on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
This year’s observance is being held under the theme “Together Against Loneliness.”
As part of the activities, the Ministry is inviting students, teachers, and members of the public to wear brightly coloured or mismatched socks on Friday, March 20, 2026, as a symbol of inclusion, acceptance, and solidarity with individuals living with Down syndrome.
Persons interested in participating can purchase socks from the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School by contacting Ms. Jeffers at 466-0038.
The Ministry is also encouraging the wider community to continue promoting inclusion, belonging, and respect, ensuring that individuals with Down syndrome feel connected, valued, and supported in schools and communities across the Federation.
